How Etsy fees add up in 2026
- Listing fee — $0.20 per listing, charged when you list and again if it renews after a sale.
- Transaction fee — 6.5% of the item price plus the shipping you charge.
- Payment processing — 3% + $0.25 in the US (varies by country).
- Offsite Ads — charged only when a buyer reaches you through one of Etsy’s external ads and buys within 30 days. The rate depends on your shop’s revenue over any consecutive 365 days: 15% under $10,000 (and you can opt out), or a discounted 12% once you have hit $10,000 — at which point participation becomes mandatory for the life of the shop. Either way the fee is capped at $100 per order.

Is the transaction fee charged on shipping too?
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee applies to the item price and the shipping you charge the buyer (and gift wrapping). This calculator includes that.
Does Etsy charge a fee on sales tax?
Etsy automatically collects and remits sales tax as a marketplace facilitator, and does not charge you a transaction fee on the tax it collects, so it is left out of this calculation.
